The principal role of the CMO is to provide medical expertise and advice to key CombatAUS personnel, programs and teams in relation to the preparation and performance of teams and athletes.

Through strategic leadership, the CMO will create proactive and reactive mechanisms to optimise health and wellbeing to ultimately enhance the performances of combat athletes who are part of CombatAUS managed environments; National Performance Centre in Melbourne for Judo & Taekwondo in partnership with the Victorian Institute of Sport, Boxing as a camps-based program in partnership with the Queensland Academy of Sport and other Developing & above categorised athletes that are not engaged in these environments.
