The AFLW Physiotherapist provides comprehensive physiotherapy services across training and competition, supporting injury prevention, assessment, treatment, and return-to-play for AFLW athletes.
Working closely with the Rehab Coordinator, Head Physiotherapist, coaches, and the high-performance team, the role leads evidence-informed rehabilitation, monitors player readiness, and contributes to performance optimisation and athlete wellbeing.
The AFLW Physiotherapist requires you to be a strong collaborator, clear communicator, and a player-centred approach are central to delivering high-quality care in an elite football environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Attend and actively contribute to all AFLW training sessions and games during pre-season and in-season
- In partnership with Rehab Coordinator, lead the rehabilitation process. This involves close collaboration to design and execute evidence informed rehabilitation programs.
- Ensure continual assessment and performance testing to guide rehabilitation phase progressions and readiness to return to play.
- Assist the Head Physiotherapist in assessing, diagnosing, and managing injuries. This includes providing hands-on treatment and incorporating injury prevention strategies.
