The Detroit Tigers are currently seeking a full-time Biomechanist to join the Performance Science team. This role is responsible for conducting applied research and performance analyses within Performance Science, and translating complex biomechanical data into clear, actionable insights that support athlete performance, development, and informed decision-making by coaches and key stakeholders. This position will report to the Director, Performance Science.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research, build, test and deploy statistical and/or machine learning models using baseball biomechanics data to support player development and decision making.
- Develop models, applications, and reports to increase efficiency in the delivery and integration of Performance Science data across the organization.
- Perform internal research integrating biomechanics data with other sources of injury, workload and performance data to improve current and build new evaluation and monitoring processes.
