Development Officer, Leadership - Youth Sport Trust
If you have experience of managing programmes or supporting multiple long-term projects, this is an exciting opportunity to use your skills to make a difference to young people across the UK. The Youth Sport Trust works to improve children’s lives through sport, physical education and physical activity, helping every young person reach their potential. In this role, you will contribute to our work developing young people as leaders through sport and play.
As a Development Officer, you will play a key role in the design and delivery of our youth leadership programmes. You will bring leadership, creativity and strong organisational skills to your work, while working closely with schools, partners and other stakeholders to maximise impact. You will help build and maintain relationships across networks, including young leader communities and alumni groups, and support the delivery of events and leadership experiences. You will also contribute to the development of youth leadership content and work collaboratively with colleagues to monitor programme delivery, evaluate impact and share best practice. A central part of your role will be ensuring that young people’s needs and voices remain at the heart of all youth leadership activity.
You should have experience of managing or supporting complex programmes or projects, ideally within education, sport or youth development settings. Experience of working with schools or external partners would be highly beneficial, along with strong communication, planning and interpersonal skills. You will be confident managing budgets, meeting deadlines and delivering to targets, and able to adapt quickly to changing priorities. Experience of using management information systems or data tools would be an advantage.
