The Head Coach should be an accomplished leader of young players, capable of engaging the community and possessing a clear coaching philosophy that supports player development and team excellence. The role requires the coach to build and manage the roster, oversee basketball operations, lead a coaching staff, communicate with ownership, and balance the needs of both the team and its players.

The Flying Cows participate in The Basketball League (TBL), with a season that runs from February through June each year. In back-to-back seasons, they’ve clinched regular season divisional championships, recorded 20+ win seasons, and placed among the league leaders in attendance. The Flying Cows have quickly become a standard of excellence within the TBL and the most popular sports team in Frederick, MD. Heading into the third season, the Head Coach has the opportunity to put their stamp on this young organization. 

While coaching responsibilities primarily take place during the season, roster building and scouting occur year-round. The Head Coach is also expected to conduct off-season tryouts and make community appearances over the course of the year. Additional opportunities exist to work with the organization through youth basketball camps, skills training, and community events.
