To help achieve the vision and purpose of the organisation, we are now seeking an enthusiastic and experienced National Competitions Manager who will assist with preparation and delivery of the organisation's domestic events.

About the role:

Due to the departure overseas of a valued team member, we have the exciting opportunity for a National Competitions Manager to join our team based in Rosedale, Auckland. As our National Competitions Manager, you will support planning, coordination and execution of Water Polo New Zealand’s competitions, events, and stakeholder training. This is a crucial role that will ensure the success of our water polo events.

Your responsibilities include:

• Lead and attend a range of national events across NZ, including senior, age group, festival (school and NZ national champs).
• Oversee event delivery administration: entries, draws, schedules, communications.
• Confirm competition pool bookings and manage any changes throughout the year.
• Schedule and facilitate technical meetings for referees and team managers prior to events.
• Manage related competition equipment, including balls, caps, uniforms, and signage, and collaborate with the pool facilities.
• Support the implementation and maintenance of the Water Polo NZ sanctioning process and uphold competition rules.
• Manage Health & Safety compliance for events.
• Ensure competitions adhere to WPNZ rules, policies, and procedures.
