Senior Tournament Director - The Professional Golfers Association
Responsible for the delivery of a number of prestigious golf tournaments and acting as Tournament Director, Rules Official or Senior Referee for allocated events, the role will also be overall responsible for:
The tournament staffing schedule and management of permanent field-based National staff and rules panel activity
Tournament administration including budgets, entries, prize funds and qualifying numbers
Tournament data and the continued development of the BlueGolf system
Tournament policies, procedures, regulations, event health & safety, risk management and compliance
PGA Rules Education and training materials
Venue procurement and communication with Members/other stakeholders
Assisting with wider departmental duties and acting as designated deputy to the Head of Tournaments.
The successful candidate will have significant experience in all aspects of planning, managing and the execution of golf tournaments, whilst being an experienced people manager (preferably in a similar environment). Having passed PGA and R&A Rules exams, the Senior Tournament Director will have an expert knowledge of the Rules of Golf, knowledge of the internal structure of professional tours and the ability to apply tournament regulations, entry criteria and policy handbooks.
