Sports Physiotherapist, Swimming - Queensland Academy of Sport
The Queensland Academy of Sport (QAS) is on a bold journey towards Brisbane 2032 and beyond. Following the extraordinary success of Queensland athletes at the recent Olympic and Paralympic Games, we are now focused on delivering even more medal-winning moments through to Los Angeles 2028 and our home Games in 2032.
This role will suit a qualified Sports and Exercise Physiotherapist. Based in Brisbane, this role requires the provision of Physiotherapy support to categorised podium, developing and emerging athletes in the QAS Swimming program. Work will be conducted from Sleeman Sport Complex, QSAC and other affiliated training facilities. You will also be responsible for developing strategies to support exceptional High-Performance outcomes.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
- Conduct initial health evaluations using an agreed screening tool within one month of the athlete commencing in a QAS-supported program, in collaboration with other performance support team members, e.g. Strength and Conditioning practitioners
- Oversee screening follow-up and conduct periodic health evaluations as required.
- Upload accurate and timely consultation details into the QAS/NSO Athlete Management System (AMS) within 48 hours of consulting with an athlete.
